MEET ED SMITH
Ed Smith is a candidate for Judge for the Erie County Common Pleas Court.
Ed is a father, husband, friend and experienced attorney. Ed has spent the last three decades earning the trust of the Erie community. Ed is committed to keeping your trust so he can keep Erie safe.
Ed raised his son and daughter in Millcreek Township, where he currently lives with his wife and dog. Ed attended public schools and was ranked number 2 in his class in high school, earned his bachelors degree in Health Planning and Administration from Penn State University and received his law degree from Duquesne University Law School.
During college, Ed began his practice clerking in the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Homicide Division. After school, Ed got a job in Erie and began to practice a wide variety of law. He successfully litigated a class action suit in federal court in Erie seeking to protect the rights of spouses to their pensions who were involved in divorce actions. In addition, he successfully prevented a company from being sued under the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices Act in a potential class action suit. In 2018 Ed received the highest anonymous rating from his peers with regard to legal ability and legal ethics.
When he’s not working, you can find Ed relaxing on Presque Isle, volunteering in the community, or spending time with friends and family.
